Client-Based Host Integration Options
PASSPORT PC TO HOST
(desktop-based terminal emulation and APIs)
PASSPORT PC TO HOST offers desktop-based terminal emulation and APIs for screen-based integration with TN3270, TN5250, VT100, VT220, VT420, SCO ANSI and Wyse 60 applications. The Windows Vista® solution is a more traditional approach for application integration at the client level and is best for small-scale integration, i.e. a limited number of host sessions. Available APIs include:
Object Interface - The Object Interface is recommended for new applications that require an object-oriented interface to host applications, can be used to run existing Attachmate OLE automation applications, or used to run complex Attachmate EXTRA!® macros that have been converted by Zephyr for use with PASSPORT. The PASSPORT Object Toolkit is available to customers who license at least 500 units of PASSPORT via an annual subscription license. More...
Macro Interface - The Macro Interface is recommended when a lightweight screen scraping API is needed to access a single host session with simple event functions. More...
HLLAPI Interface - HLLAPI (High Level Language Application Programming Interface) is recommended when PASSPORT is being used to replace an Attachmate EXTRA!®, IBM Personal Communications® or NetManage Rumba® emulator and an existing PC HLLAPI application (many third party applications use this more traditional API for host access).
PASSPORT WEB TO HOST
(browser-based terminal emulation and APIs)
PASSPORT WEB TO HOST offers browser-based terminal emulation and APIs for screen-based integration with TN3270, TN5250, VT100, VT220, VT420, SCO ANSI and Wyse 60 applications. The Windows Vista® solution is commonly used to integrate access to host applications from an organizational portal and/or to integrate host access services inside an Internet Explorer framework. Available APIs include:

PASSPORT Host Integration Objects
(programmatic host integration client)
PASSPORT Host Integration Objects (HIO) can be used as a programmatic host integration client for legacy system integration, connecting TN3270 and TN5250 host applications with other ActiveX or .NET applications. The Windows Vista® application includes a TN3270 and TN5250 communications module, an object-oriented API and sample projects and code to use as examples. PASSPORT HIO can be used for client-based integration projects that require a more robust integration tool than what is provided with terminal emulation. More...
Server-Based Host Integration Options
PASSPORT Host Integration Objects
(programmatic host integration server)
PASSPORT Host Integration Objects (HIO) can be used as a programmatic host integration server for legacy system integration, connecting TN3270 and TN5250 host applications with other ActiveX or .NET applications. The Windows 2003 and 2000 Server application includes a TN3270 and TN5250 communications module, an object-oriented API and sample projects and code to use as examples. PASSPORT HIO can be used for server-based integration projects that require a more robust integration tool than what is provided with terminal emulation. Up to 2,000 sessions can be supported on a single Windows server. A terminal emulation control is provided that supports screen display, keyboard, mouse and other functions. More...
