Issue

Can I increase the available screen space in a session by turning off the button bars by default?

Solution

From the Administrator:

By default, PASSPORT Web to Host displays all toolbars, button bars and hot spots. However, the Administrator can easily disable the visibility of these items by following the steps below. This will result in a more traditional 3270 look and feel.

  1. Launch the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
  2. Right-click on the Attributes icon for the emulation type you are using and choose New.
  3. Enter a name for the attribute profile and click OK.
  4. Click the Startup tab and un-check all of the check boxes then click OK.
  5. Click the Sessions icon in the left pane.
  6. In the right window pane, double-click the session profile that you wish to assign the new attribute profile to.
  7. Click the Options tab, click on the name of the attribute profile that was created above, and then click OK.

From the Client:

  1. Choose the View menu.
  2. Select Button Bars.

  3. Select/deselect the button bars as desired
  4. Save the session before exiting
