Recovering Unused Licenses
PASSPORT Web to Host
TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60
Is it possible to recover a license that is no longer in use? For example, if a user gets a new workstation with a different machine name, or a user cannot launch a session due to a "License count exceeded!" error message.
This solution only applies to per-seat licensing and is not available for concurrent licensing. This is a feature that may be configured from the Administrator. Follow the steps below to recover a license in PASSPORT Web to Host:
Feature added in PASSPORT Web to Host version 2002-823
Caution should be used when utilizing this feature. Removing or renaming a workstation ID in the license manager could result in preventing a valid user from being able to launch a host session.
Workstations may also be manually Published to the list of licensed users. Follow the steps above and choose Add at step number 4. The Add button is disabled if there are no available licenses. In this case more licenses may need to be purchased.
If you have concurrent licensing, the user must close/exit out of their PASSPORT Web to Host session window in order to reclaim a license.
