Issue

Is it possible to recover a license that is no longer in use? For example, if a user gets a new workstation with a different machine name, or a user cannot launch a session due to a "License count exceeded!" error message.

Solution

This solution only applies to per-seat licensing and is not available for concurrent licensing. This is a feature that may be configured from the Administrator. Follow the steps below to recover a license in PASSPORT Web to Host:

  1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
  2. Choose the Tools®Licensing Information menu command.
  3. Click the View Licensed Users button to display a list of currently licensed workstations. (This option will not be available if you have concurrent licensing)
  4. Locate and highlight the appropriate workstation ID in the list and choose Delete to remove or Rename to modify.
  5. Click Exit then OK.
