Issue

There are entries in my Action Log, but when I view the Session Usage log it is blank.

Solution

This is a problem that occurs when a PASSPORT Web to Host concurrent license is installed on Windows Server 2003 with an IIS 6.0 default configuration. The timer functionality of the Session Usage Log does not work in this environment. Currently the only way to overcome this is to configure IIS 6.0 to "Run WWW Service in IIS 5.0 isolation mode". This issue has been resolved in PASSPORT Web to Host version 2007-1516-1. For versions prior to version 2007, follow the steps below to configure:

  1. Start IIS Manager.
  2. Right-click the Web Sites folder and choose Properties.
  3. Select the Service tab.
  4. Enable the Run WWW Service in IIS 5.0 isolation mode option.
  5. When prompted, click Yes to restart the IIS services.

Note: this setting affects all web sites on the server and is considered to be less secure.
