Title

Configuring Field Paste Mode

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host, PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250

Issue

Does PASSPORT support the field paste mode and how is it configured?

Solution

Field paste mode, when configured, will clear the contents of the current field and replace with either spaces, nulls or underscores before copying the contents of the clipboard. This feature is useful when the current contents of the field is larger than the clipboard contents.  Without enabling this option the remaining text would be left on the screen and would have to be manually removed.

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Start a PASSPORT session.
  2. Choose Edit from the Options menu.
  3. Select Customize.
  4. Select Field Mode as the Paste Mode:

  5. Enable the Fill field with option and choose either Nulls, Spaces or Underscores.

  6. Click OK to save.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

  3. Select Field Mode as the Paste Mode:

  4. Enable the Fill field with option and choose either Nulls, Spaces or Underscores:

  5. Click OK to save.
  6. If this attribute profile is not already assigned to a session, open the session profile that you would like to assign this attribute profile to.
  7. Select the Options tab.
  8. Locate and select the attribute profile name from the Attribute Profile list.
  9. Click OK to save or Connect to test.
