Title

Not Able to Highlight Text

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host, PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

Currently, when I attempt to highlight an area of text on my screen, a box is drawn around the area that I select, but then disappears when I release the mouse button. Why does the box not remain so I can perform an edit function on my selection?

Solution

This behavior would indicate that the session is configured to automatically copy the selected area of the screen. Follow the steps below to disable this feature:

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Start a PASSPORT session.
  2. Choose Edit from the Options menu
  3. Disable the Automatic copy selected area option.
  4. Click OK to save.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

From the Client:

The instructions are the same as those for PC to Host.

From the Administrator:

  1. Open the Attribute profile that is assigned to the session you want to apply this setting to, or create a new attribute profile by right-clicking on Attributes and selecting New.
  2. Select Edit from the menu on the left:

  3. Disable Automatic Copy Selected Area:

  4. Click OK to save.
  5. If this attribute profile is not already assigned to a session, open the session profile that you would like to assign this attribute profile to.
  6. Select the Options tab.
  7. Locate and select the attribute profile name from the Attribute Profile list.
  8. Click OK to save or Connect to test.
