Title

Pasted Text Gets Truncated

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host, PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250

Issue

When I try to paste a large amount of data to my PASSPORT emulation screen, some of the text is truncated. Is there a way to configure PASSPORT to prevent this from happening?

Solution

PASSPORT supports several different paste modes:

If the pasted text is being truncated, try configuring PASSPORT for Stream Mode or, if you need the text to wrap to the next line using Block Mode, enable the Word Wrap option. Follow the steps below to configure this option in PASSPORT:

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Start a PASSPORT session.
  2. Choose the Edit®Options menu command.  Note: Beginning with PASSPORT 2007 this can be customized under the Options®Edit menu.
  3. Select the appropriate Paste Mode.
  4. Enable Word Wrap if using Block Mode.
  5. Click OK to save.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

From the Client:

  1. Start a PASSPORT Web to Host session.
  2. Choose the Edit®Options menu command.  Note: Beginning with PASSPORT 2007 this can be customized under the Options®Edit menu.
  3. Make sure the Paste to protected fields option is checked.
  4. Click OK to save.

From the Administrator:

  1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
  2. Edit an existing or create a new Attribute profile.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Select the appropriate Paste Mode.
  5. Enable Word Wrap if using Block Mode.
  6. Click OK to save.
  7. Open the session profile that you would like to assign this attribute profile to.
  8. Select the Options tab.
  9. Locate and select the attribute profile name from the Attribute Profile list.
  10. Click OK to save or Connect to test.
