Issue

When I hit the F4 key in a VT session, it does not exit out of the application.  What can I do to resolve this?

Solution

This could be caused by the F4 key being mapped to Null. You may re-map the F4 key to the PF4 host function to correct this problem. This can be done by following the steps below:

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Start a VT Session.
  2. Select Keyboard from the Options menu.
  3. Select the Customize button to display the Customize Keyboard Editor dialog box.
  4. Select the F4 key and select the Edit button.
  5. Under Category, select Host Key and assign PF4 from the Host Keys.
  6. Click OK twice.
  7. Type a name for your custom keyboard map or choose from an existing one.
  8. Click OK to save.

For PASSPORT Web to Host Client:

Instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host.

PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator:

  1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
  2. Click the plus sign to the left of the appropriate emulation type to expand (i.e. VT Display).
  3. Click Keyboards.
  4. Double click an existing keyboard map or right-click Keyboards and choose New to create a new one.
  5. Select the F4 key and select the Edit button.
  6. Under Category, select Host Key and assign PF4 from the Host Keys.
  7. Click OK twice to save.
  8. Open the session profile you wish to assign this custom keyboard map to and choose the Options tab.
  9. Select the keyboard map from above and click OK to save.
