Title

Failed to Open Keyboard Map File... After Upgrade

Product

PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

After upgrading to the latest version of PASSPORT Web to Host, users with locally customized keyboards receive the following ZE10060 Failed to open keyboard map file <keyboardmapfile.zkb>. Default PASSPORT keyboard map will be used instead. error message and all custom keyboard settings are lost:

Solution

This issue is caused when the custom keyboard map file (.ZKB) created with the old version of PASSPORT Web to Host does not have all the parameters that the new version has. This may be resolved by either recreating the keyboard map with the new version, or by adding the following parameters to the existing file using a text editor such as Notepad:

EmulType= should be the emulation type configured in your session

KeyboardMap= should be the original keyboard map configured in your session prior to the customization

For example, if the header of the original keyboard map file was:

[Keyboard]

KeyboardType=IBMEnhanced

Language=English (U.S.)

It should be modified to this:

[Keyboard]

EmulType=TN3270

KeyboardType=IBMEnhanced

KeyboardMap=PASSPORT

Language=English (U.S.)
