Title

First Key Pressed After Connecting Session through Citrix Causes Blank Screen

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

My users start a PASSPORT session through our Terminal Server/Citrix Server and successfully connect to our host. However, the first key pressed after connecting causes the screen to go blank. What is causing this and how can I resolve the issue?

Solution

This is a known problem when connecting a PASSPORT session through Terminal Server and/or Citrix Server, which is caused by the PAUSE key being sent by the Terminal Server. By default, the CLEAR host key is mapped to the PAUSE key on the keyboard. To resolve the issue, the PAUSE key should be mapped to NOTHING. If the CLEAR host key is required, it should be re-mapped to a different key (for example, SHIFT-PAUSE).
