Title

Page Up & Page Down keys Not Working for Previous & Next Page Functions

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host, PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270

Issue

Pressing the Page Up and Page Down keys does not work for navigating to previous or next page in my mainframe application as expected.

Solution

By default, most mainframe applications use the PA1 host key for previous screen and the PA2 host key for next screen. Therefore, PA1 should be mapped to the Page Up key and PA2 should be mapped to the Page Down key in PASSPORT. To verify this, follow the steps below.

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Start the PASSPORT session.
  2. Choose the Options®Keyboard menu command.

  3. Click the Customize button.
  4. Select the Up key on the keyboard map.
  5. Make sure Normal is selected and click the Edit button.

  6. Choose the Host Key Category then select the PA1 Host Key from the list.

  7. Click OK to return to the keyboard editor.
  8. Select the Down key on the keyboard map.
  9. Make sure Normal is selected and click the Edit button.
  10. Choose the Host Key category then select PA2 from the list of Host Keys.
  11. Click OK to return to the keyboard editor.
  12. Click OK to save.

For PASSPORT Web to Host Client:

Instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host.

For PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator:

  1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator application.
  2. Select the Keyboard section for the 3270 Display emulation type.
  3. Open an existing or create a new Keyboard map by right-clicking and choosing New.
  4. Select the Up key on the keyboard map.

  5. Make sure Normal is selected and click the Edit button.
  6. Choose the Host Key Category then select PA1 from the list of Host Keys.

  12. Click OK to save the keyboard map.
  13. Open the session profile.
  14. Select the Options tab.
  15. Make sure the keyboard map configured above is highlighted then click OK to save or Connect to test.
