Issue
I have successfully configured PASSPORT to use the APL character and keyboard support as outlined in the documentation. However, I need to know how I can easily switch between a standard custom keyboard map and the APL keyboard map.
Solution
For PASSPORT PC to Host:
Although PASSPORT does not have an APL on/off host key, you may follow the steps below to simulate this:
- Start a PASSPORT PC to Host session.
- Choose the Options®Keyboard menu command.
- Make sure the Custom radio button is selected and APL.zkb is listed as the current Custom Keyboard Map:
- Choose the Customize... button.
- Highlight the key that will be used to toggle between keyboard maps.
- Choose the appropriate Normal, Shift, Ctrl, etc. radio button, making sure not to use a key combination that is already in use.
- Choose the Edit button.
- Select the Miscellaneous category.
- Highlight Apply Setting-Keyboard then browse for the custom keyboard map that you will toggle to:
- Click OK twice.
- Click Save to save your settings to the APL keyboard map.
- Click Browse then locate the keyboard map from step 9 above.
- Click Customize.
- Repeat steps 5-9 and choose the APL.zkb during step 9.
- Click OK twice.
- Click Save to save your settings to the keyboard map.
- Click OK to return to the session.
For PASSPORT Web to Host Client:
Instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host.
