How can PASSPORT be configured to show unprotected fields as reverse video on the screen?

Solution

PASSPORT may be configured to highlight all editable fields on each TN3270 host screen, allowing the user to easily identify which fields are available for modifications.

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

This is done by choosing the Options®TN3270 menu command from a connected TN3270 PASSPORT session.  Enable the Show Unprotected Fields option, and then choose Reverse Video from the drop-down list.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

From the Client:

 

Instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host

 

From the Administrator:

  1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
  2. Edit an existing or create a new Attribute profile.
  3. Select TN3270 from the left window pane.
  4. Enable the check box next to Show Unprotected Fields, and then choose Reverse Video from the drop-down list.
  5. Click OK to save.
  6. Open the session profile that you would like to assign this attribute profile to.
  7. Select the Options tab.
  8. Locate and select the attribute profile name from the Attribute Profile list.
  9. Click OK to save or Connect to test.
