Issue

Why am I seeing the vertical lines that are supposed to be displayed as dots on my AS/400 application?

Solution

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Make a connection to your host and select the Options®Miscellaneous menu.  Note: Beginning with PASSPORT 2007 this can be customized under the Options®TN5250 menu.
  2. Select the Dot option under the Column Separator field to convert the vertical lines into dots.
  3. Click OK to save the settings.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

 

From the Client:

 

Instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host

 

From the Administrator:

  1. Open the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
  2. Open an existing Attribute Profile or create a new one under the 5250 Display section.
  3. Select the Miscellaneous tab.
  4. Select the Dot option under the Column Separator field to convert the vertical bars into dots.
  5. Click OK to save the settings.
  6. Open the appropriate 5250 Display session.
  7. Select the Options tab and make sure the Attribute Profile from step 2 is highlighted.
