Issue
How can I customize my toolbar?
Solution
Any button may be mapped to a host key, dead key, text character, text string, macro, menu command or miscellaneous function. Custom bitmaps may also be used for the button face.
For PASSPORT PC to Host:
- Start a PASSPORT session
- Select Toolbar from the Options menu
- Select the Customize button to display the Customize Toolbar dialog box.
- Perform any of the following (repeating as necessary):
- To add a button to the toolbar, choose the Add button to display the Button Properties dialog box.
Properties Tab:
Icon - Displays the currently selected icon for the toolbar button.
Available Icons - Displays the icons available for assigning to toolbar buttons. To change icons, choose one from the list.
Browse - Click the Browse button to select a custom bitmap file for use as the toolbar button icon.
Text - Text string to display when the Show Button Text option is enabled.
Tool Tip - Text string to display when the Show Tool Tips option is enabled.
Action Tab:
Category - Displays a list of action categories. Choose an item within the category to assign to the toolbar button.
- To remove a button from the toolbar, select the button you want to remove from the Toolbar Buttons box, and then click Remove.
- To reposition a button on the toolbar, select the button you want to move from the Toolbar Buttons box, and then click Up or Down as many times as is appropriate.
- Click OK to return to the Toolbar page.
- Click OK to save.
For PASSPORT Web to Host:
From the Client:
Instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host
From the Administrator:
- Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
- Edit an existing or create a new Attribute profile.
- Select the Toolbar tab.
- Select the Customize button to display the Customize Toolbar dialog box.
- Perform any of the following (repeating as necessary):
- To add a button to the toolbar, choose the Add button to display the Button Properties dialog box.
Properties Tab:

Available Icons - Displays the icons available for assigning to toolbar buttons. To change icons, choose one from the list.

- Open the session profile that you would like to assign this attribute profile to.
- Select the Options tab.
- Locate and select the attribute profile name from the Attribute Profile list.
- Click OK to save or Connect to test.

The Options®Toolbar menu command will only be available on client workstations if the system administrator has granted this permission. If it is unavailable, please contact the administrator.
