VI Editor Commands Not Working Correctly
PASSPORT PC to Host, PASSPORT Web to Host
VT
With a VT100 session configured, when editing a file using the standard Unix VI editor some commands do not work as expected. For example, the 'K' command will only scroll backward a line at a time until the top of the screen is reached. This should allow you to scroll indefinitely until the top of the file is reached.
Problems experienced while using the Unix VI editor with a VT100 session can be resolved by re-configuring the session to use VT220 rather than VT100. Follow the steps below to configure PASSPORT:
The instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host.
If the 7-bit option is selected, then the application code will be sent to the host in 7-bit sequence. If the 8-bit option is selected, the application code will be sent to the host in 8-bit sequence. If you are unsure which of these to use, you may need to check with your Unix administrator.
