When attempting to connect to the host, a "Connection closed by host, reconnecting in 1 sec..." message is displayed on the status bar and a connection cannot be made. What would cause this and how can it be resolved?
Some mainframe hosts are configured so that they require a specific Resource Name (LU Name) when a connection is attempted. In this case, if Generic is selected or an invalid Resource Name is entered, the connection will be refused. Choose the Communication®Connection Log menu command to display additional information, which should help determine why the connection is being closed by the host. The "Connection Refused" message means the host you are trying to connect to is actively refusing the connection. This usually happens when trying to connect to a service that is inactive on the host. Rocket Software will not be able to provide any information about the IP address or configuration options that are needed to connect to your host. These have to come from the owner of the host system that you are trying to access.
