Issue

Dial-Up Networking pops up and prompts me for username and password when I start PASSPORT.

Solution

This is caused by a setting in Microsoft Internet Explorer. To fix, do the following:

  1. In Internet Explorer, select Internet Options from the Tools menu
  2. Click on the Connections tab.
  3. Make sure the Dial the default connection when needed option is un-checked.
  4. Click OK to save.
