ISSET_SE caused a general protection fault in module during PASSPORT PC to Host installation

Why do I get a "ISSET_SE caused a general protection fault in module 'file name' at memory address" error message during the PC to Host installation? Where 'file name' is the name of the program file I am trying to run, and memory address is the memory address at which the error occurs. How can I resolve this?
This behavior can occur if any of the following conditions exist:
Norton AntiVirus is installed and Norton AutoProtect is enabled.
You use LiveUpdate for Norton AntiVirus to download an updated version of Norton AntiVirus.
Microsoft IntelliPoint software is installed on your computer, and the Point32 program is currently running.
Microsoft IntelliMouse or Microsoft IntelliMouse Trackball software is installed on your computer, and the Mswheel program is currently running.
To work around this behavior, use the appropriate method and then attempt to install the program again.
If Norton AutoProtect is enabled, disable Norton AutoProtect Mode. To do so, on the taskbar right-click the Norton icon, and then click Disable.
If you use LiveUpdate to download Norton AntiVirus, obtain the latest version of LiveUpdate for Norton AntiVirus from Symantec's web site. For more information about how to obtain LiveUpdate, contact Symantec Technical Support.
If the Point32 program is running, quit the Point32 program by pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Close Program dialog box. Click Point32. Click End Task, and then click End Task again.
If the Mswheel program is running, quit the Mswheel program by pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Close Program dialog box. Click Mswheel. Click End Task, and then click End Task again.
This behavior may also be caused by any application that is running as a task in Windows. If you continue to the get the error after checking the above items, check for any other applications by pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
