Issue

With Dynamic selected for the Screen Size in a PASSPORT TN3270 session, I receive a "Logmode Value Parameter Invalid" message from the host. Is there a way to overcome this?

Solution

To prevent this error from occurring, you should configure PASSPORT as follows:

  1. Configure Dynamic Screen Size.

  2. Enable TN3270E Response Support.

  3. Use IBM-3278-2-E in the Telnet Device Type Override box.

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. With your session disconnected, select Setup from the Communication menu:

  2. Select the radio button next to Dynamic under Screen Size.
  3. Enter IBM-3278-2-E in the Telnet Device Type Override box.
  4. Make sure TN3270E Response Support is checked.
  5. Click Connect to test.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

From the Administrator:

  1. Open an existing or create a new session profile
  2. On the Connection tab, select Dynamic for the Screen Size.

  3. Enter IBM-3278-2-E in the Telnet Device Type Override box.
