Title

Spoolsv.exe Caused a General Protection Fault

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host, PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

I am getting a "Spoolsv.exe caused a general protection fault." error message when starting a PASSPORT session or when attempting to print from a PASSPORT session. How can I resolve this?

Solution

This happens when your PASSPORT session profile (.zws), which contains the printer information becomes corrupted. This is corrected in one of two ways:

  1. Re-install the printer drivers on your workstation.
  2. Create a new PASSPORT session profile.
