Title

The Page Cannot Be Displayed Error with eCode 407

Product

PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

When trying to launch a PASSPORT Web to Host session, I am getting "The page cannot be displayed" error message with HTTP eCode=407 error code.

Solution

This problem is normally caused by a Proxy Server authentication error.  Check your Proxy Server settings to make sure PASSPORT connections are allowed to pass through to your host.

If internal clients require access to an external PASSPORT Web to Host Server through an ISA Server, an HTTP 407 – Proxy Authentication error may be returned by the PASSPORT client.  This occurs if the Access Rule on the ISA Server for Internet access is configured for the Specific users and groups Client Type.

To overcome this, you must re-configure the Access Rule or create a specific Access Rule for PASSPORT Web to Host access, which uses the Specific computers (Client Address Set) or Any request Client Type. This issue has been addressed in version 2004-930-2 of PASSPORT Web to Host. If your organization requires that Internet access is restricted with the Specific users and groups Client Type, you must upgrade to this release or newer.
