Title

The Page Cannot Be Displayed Error with eCode 500

Product

PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

When trying to launch a session from the PASSPORT Web to Host launch page, I am getting "The page cannot be displayed" error message with HTTP eCode=500 error code.

Solution

This problem usually occurs because your PASSPORT Web to Host virtual directory (pec or comparable name) in IIS is configured to run without an application name.  Follow the steps below to resolve:

  1. Right click on the PASSPORT Web to Host virtual directory (pec or comparable name) in the IIS console and select Properties.
  2. Under the Application Settings section of the Virtual Directory tab, click the Create button to create your application name.
  3. Click OK to save the settings (the Application name should now be the same as your PASSPORT Web to Host virtual directory name).
  4. Access your PASSPORT Web to Host launch page to launch a session.
