Title

The Page Cannot Be Found 400- Bad Request

Product

PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

After installing PASSPORT Web to Host on a Windows 2000 or 2003 server, I receive "The page cannot be found HTTP 400 - Bad Request" error message when trying to access the Administrator web page from Start->All Programs->PASSPORT Web to Host Admin->Administrator

Solution

One of the following may cause this:

  1. By default, the shortcut to access the Web to Host Administrator web page from the Start menu points to the local loopback host name: LOCALHOST. If LOCALHOST is disabled on the Web to Host server you will receive this error. To correct this you must either enable LOCALHOST in the Hosts file located in "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\" or modify the shortcut to point to the server name or IP address of the Web to Host server.
  2. If the server where Web to Host is installed is part of a Windows Cluster and the web site in IIS is configured to listen on the cluster IP address you should either re-configure the web site to listen on the server's local IP address or create a new web site that listens on the server's local IP address and install Web to Host on the new web site.
