Issue
How do I configure SFTP for secure file transfer using SSH?
Solution
PASSPORT supports SSH File Transfer (SFTP). SFTP relies on the SSH protocol to provide secure file transfer. The PASSPORT SFTP is based on the PuTTY SSH implementation for Win 32.
From PASSPORT PC to Host and PASSPORT Web to Host:
- Select Transfer from the Options menu:
- Verify that FTP is selected as the File Transfer Method.
- Select FTP Server.
- Select SFTP Using SSH as the server type.
- Enter the necessary configuration information on the Host Settings tab.
Note: The default port for SFTP is 22.
- Select the SSH tab:
- Configure as desired.
For PASSPORT FTP Client:
- If you are connected to a session, disconnect from the session by selecting Disconnect from the Communication menu.
- Select Setup from the Communication menu.
- Add a new profile by selecting Add.
- Enter a name for your new profile.
- Select SFTP Using SSH as the server type.
- Enter the necessary configuration information.
- Select the SSH tab:
- Configure as desired.
