Issue

Modifying the record length for a file transfer.

Solution

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

1. Select Transfer from the Options menu:
   
   
2. Under Select Transfer Scheme, select Customize:
   
   
3. Select the appropriate tab for your host type.
4. Enter the desired Record Length.
5. Click Save to save your changes.
6. Click OK to return to your session.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

From the Client:

Instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host.

From the Administrator:

1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
2. Edit an existing or create a new Attribute profile.
3. Select Transfer:
   
   
4. Under Select Transfer Scheme, select Customize:
   
   
5. Select the appropriate tab for your host type.
6. Enter the desired Record Length.
7. Click Save to save your changes
8. Click OK to save your attribute profile.
9. Open the session profile that you would like to assign this attribute profile to.
10. Select the Options tab.
11. Locate and select the attribute profile name from the Attribute Profile list.
12. Click OK to save or Connect to test.

More Information

For versions prior to 2007:

1. From the active session menu, select the Transfer®Send or Transfer®Receive option.

2. Under the File Type section of the screen, select the Custom option.

3. Enter the appropriate parameter in the Custom File Type Parameters field. This is a free-form text field you can use to enter any valid file transfer parameters.  Any parameters entered are dependent on the host operating system.
