Issue

Although everything seems to be configured correctly, I can’t seem to perform an IND$FILE file transfer using PASSPORT. What should I do?

Solution

If you’re connected using model 5 screen size and attempting to do file transfer from the ISPF option 6 (command), you will get a dialog box with the message "FILE TRANSFER TIME OUT" and no data will be transferred. This is a known issue with PASSPORT version 2002-621 and earlier.

This problem has been corrected in version 2004-930 and newer; however, there are two immediate ways to work around this problem:

  1. Perform your file transfer from the TSO command line outside of ISPF.
  2. Re-configure your session to use a screen size other than model 5.
