Title

With the PASSPORT Folder Locked Down Get Error After File Transfer

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270

Issue

We are setting permissions on the PASSPORT folder so that the user cannot write to it. During the PASSPORT installation, within the "User Data Folder" screen we had selected "All Users Document Directory". When we perform an IND$FILE file transfer it attempts to write transmission data to a log file within the PASSPORT folder. It then errors with a security message. Is there a way to direct where the log file resides to be written to?

Solution

You may be seeing this because the session profile you are using (.ZWS) has been copied from another machine and it is attempting to write to a folder in the original user's profile. If you create a session from scratch, you would most likely not experience this issue. Also, you may control this setting from the Options®Transfer menu command. If you decide to continue using your existing session profile, we would recommend checking all the other option screens to see if anything else is affected. Otherwise, we would suggest creating a new session profile to overcome this issue.
