VT Pass-Through Printing
PASSPORT PC to Host, PASSPORT Web to Host
VT, SCO ANSI
Does PASSPORT provide support for pass-through printing, and if so, how does it work?
PASSPORT PC to Host version 2004-3B30-4 and PASSPORT Web to Host version 2004-3722-3 and newer provides support for VT pass-through printing. This feature is invoked when an escape sequence is received from the host to notify PASSPORT to switch to printer mode. All data that is received after this is sent to the printer until another escape sequence is received from the host to indicate the end of the print job and return to display mode. Although this feature is automatically enabled in PASSPORT, the following options are available, which control how it works:
Bypass Windows Printer Driver
Enable this option to send print jobs directly to the printer without interpretation by the Windows printer driver. This removes the form feed sent by the driver at the end of print jobs.
Disable Printer Translation
Enable the Disable Printer Translation option to prevent any character translation and to print characters exactly as they come from the host. No character set translation is made from the host code page to the PC code page. You should use this option if the host already generates characters in the correct character set for your printer.
Note: the Bypass Windows Printer Driver option must be enabled to use this feature
The Emulation Type must be set to VT or SCO ANSI to utilize the pass-through printing feature.
Wyse 60 emulation does not have support for pass-through printing.
