Issue

How can I remove the PASSPORT WEB TO HOST ActiveX client application from a user's workstation?

Solution

Follow the steps below to remove the ActiveX control from the Windows Downloaded Program Files folder:

 

For Internet Explorer 7:

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. Choose the Tools®Internet Options menu command.
  3. Select the Settings button from the Browsing History section.
    Note:     Prior to IE version 7, this section was called Temporary Internet Files
  4. Select the View Objects button to display the Downloaded Program Files folder.
  5. Right-click the PASSPORT Document and choose Remove from the pop-up menu.

For Internet Explorer 8 or 9:

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. Choose the Tools®Manage Add-Ons menu command.
  3. For Add-on Types make sure Toolbars and Extensions is selected.
  4. Under Show: choose Downloaded controls.
  5. Highlight PASSPORT Document then click the More information link.
  6. Click the Remove button in the lower left corner to uninstall the ActiveX component.
