Issue

How can I remove the PASSPORT WEB TO HOST ActiveX client application from a user's workstation?

Solution

Follow the steps below to remove the ActiveX control from the Windows Downloaded Program Files folder:

 

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
     

  2. Choose the Tools->Internet Options menu command.
     

  3. Select the Settings button from the Browsing History section. Note: Prior to IE version 7, this section was called Temporary Internet Files
     

  4. Select the View Objects button to display the Downloaded Program Files folder.
     

  5. Right-click the PASSPORT Document and choose Remove from the pop-up menu.

More Information

For Vista users, you will either have to disable UAC before completing the steps above, or follow these steps:

 

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
     

  2. Choose the Tools->Manage Add-Ons menu command.
     

  3. Select Enable or Disable Add-Ons
     

  4. Select Downloaded ActiveX Controls (32-bit)


     

  5. Select the PASSPORT Document and click on Delete
