Product

PASSPORT WEB TO HOST

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

Is it possible to deploy a PASSPORT WEB TO HOST Server using only telnet port 80?

Solution

Although port 80 (by default) is used to serve the HTML and ASP pages, port 23 (by default) must also be used for communication with the host system. Once the ActiveX client application is downloaded from the PASSPORT WEB TO HOST Server to the client workstation, only the connection information (host name or IP address, port number, etc.) is passed through port 80. All other communications are through port 23.
