What steps do I need to take when installing PASSPORT WEB TO HOST on Windows Server 2008?

Solution

Before installing PASSPORT WEB TO HOST on Windows Server 2008, you must have Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) installed along with the following role services: ASP.NET and ASP.  Please follow the instructions below to install Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) on Windows 2008 Server:

 

  1. Launch the Server Manager and click on Add Roles to launch the Add Roles Wizard.

  2. Click Next to proceed to selecting the Server Roles.

  3. Select the Web Server (IIS) role and click on Add Required Features when the Add Roles Wizard dialog box appears.

  4. Click on Next to proceed to the next step.

  5. Click on Next to proceed to selecting the Role Services for your Web Server (IIS).

  6. Select the ASP.NET role service and click on Add Required Role Services when the Add Roles Wizard dialog box appears. (Note – Once you select ASP.NET, the .NET Extensibility will automatically be selected as well, this is normal and should be left as is.)

  7. Select the ASP role service and click on Next.

  8. After you have confirmed your selections, click on Install to complete the installation.

  9. Once the installation has completed, you will see the following screen.  Click on Close and continue with the PASSPORT WEB TO HOST installation.
