MSI Package
PASSPORT PC to Host
TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60
Does Rocket Software have an MSI version of the setup program available?
Yes. PASSPORT PC to Host Version 21.1 and later has a zipped executable that contains the MSI package. The zipped executable is available for download at http://www.rocketsoftware.com/products/rocket-passport/downloads.
To install PASSPORT PC to Host through the command
line, you must extract the MSI package from the zipped executable
file. Save the .exe file to the desktop, and use one of the following
commands to extract the package:
Operating system | Extraction command |
32-bit | %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\pc2host32.exe /T:"%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\PC2H\" /C |
64-bit | %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\pc2host64.exe /T:"%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\PC2H\" /C |
Due to security settings, you must run the command
line installation as an administrator. If you do not do this, the
installation fails, and you do not receive any notification that it
has failed.
To run the command line installation as an administrator, click Start>All Programs>Accessories, right-click Command
Prompt, and then select
Run as administrator.
Issue one of the following commands as an administrator to install PASSPORT PC to Host:
To
perform an automatic installation using the MSI package, use the
following command:
msiexec.exe /qb /i "\\ServerName\ShareName\PC2HOST.msi" LICENSE="XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX"
To perform a silent installation, use the following
command:
msiexec.exe /qn /i "\\ServerName\ShareName\PC2HOST.msi"
LICENSE="XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX"
Where XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
is the license code provided by Rocket Software.
For more information on the command line parameters available for
msiexec.exe, see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;314881.
To deploy PASSPORT using Group Policy and Active Directory you must apply a transform (.MST) file to the MSI package, that contains the license code. Without this transform file you will receive an "Unable to find Passport.key" error.
When creating your transform file, modify the passport.key file listed in the IniFile table so that the value matches the license code provided by Rocket Software.
