IBM Mainframe, AS/400 and VT Host Printing
Is TN3270E host printing supported?
Yes, PASSPORT supports TN3270E IBM mainframe host printing. Both
3287 LU-Type 1 and LU-Type 3 host printer sessions are supported.
Is TN5250E host printing supported?
Yes, PASSPORT supports TN5250E AS400 mainframe printing. A TN5250E
Host Print Key is also available.
Is VT 'pass-through' printing supported?
Yes, VT 'pass-through' host printing for UNIX® systems is provided.
Is transparent printing supported?
Yes, PASSPORT can be configured to use transparent printing. When
special control codes or escape sequences are being sent to the
printer, the Enable Printer Transparency option must be used to
ensure that these special codes are printed correctly. Printer Transparency
sends print data to the printer using a pass-through mode.
Can printer orientation be saved in the
session profile?
Yes, printer orientation can be saved in the session profile for
the TN3270E or TN5250E host print session. For VT printing, there isn't a separate host printer session, the information is simply passed through the terminal display session.
For host screen prints, what options are
available?
PASSPORT can optionally print a configurable header or footer at the top or bottom of
each host print screen. Margins can be set and multiple host screens
can be printed on the same page. You can also print multiple screens at once.
