PASSPORT Host Printing Questions
Is TN3270E host printing supported?

Is TN5250E host printing supported?
Yes, PASSPORT supports TN5250E host printer sessions.
Are VT printer sessions supported?
PASSPORT supports VT pass-through printing. A UNIX host system can transmit an escape sequence that instructs PASSPORT to switch to host printing. This suspends the display session, and subsequent data is transmitted to a PC attached or network attached printer. After the print job is complete, the host system sends down another escape sequence that instructs PASSPORT to resume the display session.
Is transparent printing supported?
Yes, PASSPORT can be configured to use transparent printing. When special control codes or escape sequences are being sent from the host to the printer, the Enable Printer Transparency option must be used to ensure that these special codes are printed correctly. Printer Transparency sends print data to the printer using a pass-through mode.
Can printer orientation be saved in the session profile?
Yes, printer orientation can be saved in the session profile for the TN3270E or TN5250E host print session. For VT printing, there isn't a separate host printer session, the information is simply passed through the terminal display session.
For host screen prints, what options are available?
PASSPORT can optionally print a configurable title at the top of each host print screen. Margins can be set and multiple host screens can be printed on the same page.
