Web Telnet Client Deployment
PASSPORT Web to Host® is a web telnet client that includes VT/100, VT/220 and VT/420 web telnet for UNIX® systems, in addition to TN3270, TN5250, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60 and FTP clients, and features an ActiveX client that is deployed from a web server. The telnet client is installed on a web server and provides an administrator program for centralized configuration and administration. All software and configuration files reside on the web server. When the telnet client is run, an ActiveX applet is downloaded from the web server to the client desktop and run inside Internet Explorer. The ActiveX client running inside Internet Explorer makes a direct VT/100 connection to the DEC, UNIX®, or other host system.
