Issue

Can I control the size of the Action Log on my PASSPORT Web to Host Server?

Solution

Choosing the Tools®Customize Action Log menu command from the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator application will display the Action Log Customization dialog box. This allows you to enable/disable the log, set the size of the log, or clear the log. The value entered for the Log File Size may range from 64 to 2048 kilobytes. When the Default.log file reaches the specified file size, a backup file is generated called _Default.log and the original log file is cleared. If a _Default.log file already exists when the Default.log file reaches the Log File Size, it will be overwritten by the new backup file. When the Tools®View Action Log menu command is invoked, the two files are merged together before displaying the action log.

• Note: because both the Default.log and _Default.log files may reach the file size specified by this value, the amount of disk space used can potentially be twice the value entered.
