Title

Word Wrap for Block Paste Mode

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250

Issue

After copying a multiple line block of text I want to paste into another host screen without losing any of the copied text. Is this possible with PASSPORT?

Solution

PASSPORT version 2011-506 and newer provides a Word Wrap for Paste Mode option. When enabled, words that would normally overrun the right side of the PASSPORT screen or host field are automatically placed on the next line and aligned with the original cursor position when the paste was performed.

Follow the steps below to enable:

  1. Start a 3270 or 5250 PASSPORT session.
  2. Select Edit from the Options menu:

  3. Select Customize.
  4. Make sure Block Mode is selected as the Paste Mode and the Word Wrap option is enabled:

  5. Click OK to save.
