Title

Disabling the OIA Line

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host, PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

How can I disable the OIA line (the last line on the screen)?

Solution

You can't actually disable the OIA line and doing so could result in important system and session information not being displayed. For more information on the OIA and its contents please see:

The PASSPORT OIA Status Line Area

If your objective is to not display the Row and Column positions on the OIA, see documentation:

Options Cursor

One option favored by many customers is to set the OIA background color to a very dark gray (almost black) and the foreground to dark green or red, which helps clearly define the OIA from the main screen display and at the same time makes it less obvious than the default colors.

If you really want to "hide" the OIA from view altogether, then you can set the OIA background and OIA foreground colors to the same color as your screen background (default is black), so that it isn't visible.
