Title

Getting strange symbol “Y” on the OIA line after upgrading to Passport 2007

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host, PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

After upgrading to Passport 2007, I am receiving a crossed-out "Y" symbol that appears on the OIA line when typing. What does the symbol mean?

Solution

The crossed-out “Y” symbol is equivalent to “X-little man” (Input attempted in protected field (use Reset to release).  In order to see the “X-little man” symbol, you will need to use any of the PASSPORT font types instead of the Windows font types.

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Start a PASSPORT session
  2. Select Fonts from the Options menu.
  3. Select a PASSPORT Font Type from the drop-down list.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

From the Client:

Instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host.
