Issue

Is it possible to configure my TN3270 session to scroll back to previously issued commands? If so, how?

Solution

Yes. PASSPORT includes a feature that allows a scroll back buffer to be set. This option allows you to activate the history log which stores data (in lines) that are no longer displayed on the screen.  You can then use the scroll bar on the right side of the PASSPORT window to scroll back and view previous host screens. The default number of lines in the history log is 24. However, you can increase this log to a maximum of 2000 lines.

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Start a PASSPORT TN3270 session.
  2. Choose the Communication®Disconnect menu command.
  3. Choose the Communication®Setup menu command.
  4. Enable the Scroll Back Buffer option and set the number of lines to allow.
  5. Click Connect.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

  1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
  2. Open the TN3270 session to configure.
  3. Enable the Scroll Back Buffer option and set the number of lines to allow.
  4. Click OK to save or Connect to test.
