What is TN3270E Response Support?

Solution

This option determines whether or not TN3270E Responses are supported during TN3270E terminal emulation. For TN3270E display sessions this setting is usually off.

Note: enabling this option without a valid reason for doing so may cause unexpected results with your TN3270 mainframe session. For example, we have had reports of sessions being disconnected by the host when ANY TSO command is submitted from a session configured with this option enabled.

If you have an application which requires this option, follow the steps below to enable:

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Start a PASSPORT session.
  2. Choose the Communication®Disconnect menu command.
  3. Choose the Communication®Setup menu command.
  4. Enable the TN3270E Response Support option.
  5. Click the Connect button to test.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

From the Administrator:

  1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
  2. Locate and open the 3270 Display session profile.
  3. Enable the TN3270E Response Support option.
  4. Click the OK button to save or the Connect button to test.
