Title

SCO ANSI Screen Display Problem

Product

PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

SCO ANSI

Issue

We are able to successfully connect to our host using a SCO ANSI session. However, some line drawing and other special characters do not display correctly. For example, where lines are expected to display, there are alpha characters instead. How can this be corrected?

Solution

This issue is normally the result of creating a SCO ANSI session using the default settings. However, there is one attribute setting specific to SCO ANSI, which may need to be enabled in order to resolve this issue:

From the Client:

  1. Start a PASSPORT Web to Host SCO ANSI session.
  2. Choose the Options®SCO ANSI menu command.
  3. Make sure the Wrap Around option is enabled.
  4. Click OK to save.

From the Administrator:

  1. Open the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.

  2. Expand VT Display, then click Sessions.

  3. Note the Attribute profile currently assigned to the session profile that is currently being used. If it is Default, then a new custom Attribute profile must be created. If it is an existing Attribute profile, it must be modified.

  4. Choose Attributes under VT Display.

  5. Edit the existing Attribute profile, or create a new one making sure to choose SCO ANSI for Select Emulation Type.

  6. While modifying the Attribute profile, choose SCO ANSI from the left pane, enable the Wrap Around option and click OK to save.

  7. If this is a new Attribute profile, assign to the Session profile by editing the appropriate Session profile, choosing the Options tab, selecting the Attribute profile from above, then clicking OK to save.
