Issue

Is it possible to configure my VT session to scroll back to previously issued commands? If so, how?

Solution

Yes. PASSPORT contains a feature that allows a scroll back buffer to be set. When enabled, the user can scroll back a specified number of lines between the default buffer of 24, up to 2000.

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

1. Start a PASSPORT VT session.
2. Choose the Communication®Disconnect menu command.
3. Choose the Communication®Setup menu command.
4. Enable the Scroll Back Buffer option and set the number of lines to allow.
5. Click Connect.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
2. Open the VT session to configure.
3. Enable the Scroll Back Buffer option and set the number of lines to allow.
4. Click OK to save or Connect to test.

More Information

• Feature added in PASSPORT PC to Host PASSPORT PC to Host version 2002-621 and PASSPORT Web to Host version 2002-823.

• Beginning with PASSPORT 2004, scroll back is also available for TN3270 sessions.

• Beginning with PASSPORT 2004, the maximum number of lines increased from 999 to 2000.
