Title

Error The Subscription for This Software Has Expired When Starting a Session

Product

PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

Issue

After applying the new license code to the PASSPORT Web to Host server, I am still getting the error, “The subscription for this software has expired.  This software will no longer operate after xx-xx-xxxx” when launching a session.

Solution

Even though the system date is correct on the client workstation, this can still occur because of the Ecomes.zwh file, which contains the license code on the workstation, did not get updated due to the following:

  1. The IE settings is set to never check for newer versions of stored pages.

  2. The old (cache) version of the Ecomes.zwh is being used.

To correct this, do the following (on Internet Explorer 6):

  1. From your IE window, go to Tools®Internet Options menu.
  2. Under the General tab, click on the Settings button under Temporary Internet Files.
  3. Under Check for newer versions of stored pages, make sure Automatically is selected.
  4. Click OK to save changes.
  5. Under the General tab, click on the Delete Files button to clear all CACHE.
  6. Click OK, close all IE windows, and re-launch your session.

For Internet Explorer Version 7:

  1. From your IE window, go to Tools®Internet Options menu.

  2. Under the General tab, click on the Settings button under Browsing History.

  3. Under Temporary Internet Files, make sure Automatically is selected for Check for newer versions of stored pages.

  4. Click OK to save changes.

  5. Under the General tab, click on the Delete button to clear all CACHE.

  6. Click OK, close all IE windows, and re-launch your session.
