Issue

I received the following error when trying to start a PASSPORT session:

"The ordinal 6880 could not be located in the dynamic link library MFC42.DLL"

Solution

This error may occur due to any one of the following conditions:

• Workstation was not rebooted when PASSPORT setup program requested.

• MFC42.DLL is missing.

• MFC42.DLL is corrupted.

• MFC42.DLL has been overwritten by another application with an older version.

Follow the steps below to resolve this issue:

1. If the PASSPORT setup program requested a reboot, make sure the workstation is rebooted.
2. Look for the MFC42.DLL file in the Windows System folder on the workstation experiencing the problem.
3. If the DLL does not exist, either copy from a working workstation or re-install PASSPORT.
4. If the DLL exists, rename to MFC42.OLD, then copy from a working workstation or re-install PASSPORT.
