How can I specify the amount of disk space to be allocated for a new data set?

Solution

This can be done using the SPACE custom parameter. The syntax for this parameter is:

SPACE(quantity[,increment])

This specifies the amount of disk space to be allocated for a new data set. If the SPACE parameter is used, you can use one of the three following options to specify the units used for quantity and increment:

• SAVBLOCK(value)

• TRACKS

• CYLINDERS
