Does PASSPORT provide support for IRMA Transparent printing?

Solution

Support for IRMA Transparent printing is available in PASSPORT PC to Host version 2004-930 and PASSPORT Web to Host version 2004-227 and newer.

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. From a TN3270E Printer session, choose the File®Page Setup menu command. (Note: This has been renamed to File®Page Setup in version 2007)
  2. Make sure both Enable Printer Transparency and IRMA Transparency Toggle Character are enabled.
  3. Enter the hex character that will be used to toggle printer transparency on/off (default is a1).

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

 

From the Client:

 

Instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host

 

From the Administrator:

  1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator
  2. Open an existing or create a new Printer Session
  3. Select the Printer Setup tab
  4. Make sure both Enable Printer Transparency and IRMA Transparency Toggle Character are enabled.
  5. Enter the hex character that will be used to toggle printer transparency on/off (default is a1).
  6. Click OK to save or Connect to test
