What steps do I need to take to upgrade to PASSPORT PC to Host version 2009-403?

Solution

PASSPORT PC to Host 2009-403 introduces user interface support for 7 languages. The installation process, Quickstart instructions and user interface are available in the following languages:

PASSPORT will automatically detect the language of your operating system and will use this language as the selected default for installation and default keyboard configuration. You will have the option to select a different language during install if desired. Once installed, you can easily switch between languages by selecting "Language" from the View menu. You will be prompted to close and re-open PASSPORT when selecting a different language.

US/English Setup:

  1. Run the Passport_2009-403.msi to begin the installation process.
  2. You will be prompted to select a User Data Folder.  By default, the selected location will be the My Documents Directory.  However, if you choose to use a different location, then you may do so by either selecting from the following or specifying the new location.

International/Multi-Language Setup:

  1. Run the Pass32.exe to begin the installation process.
  2. It will prompt you to extract the installation files to the following location:

    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\Rocket Software\PC2H_Extracted

(You can either change the location of where the files will be extracted or leave it as is.  Be sure to make a note of the location as you may need to refer back to it for future use.)
  3. Extracted Files:
      1. 1031.mst – German transform file

      2. 1034.mst – Spanish transform file

      3. 1036.mst – French transform file

      4. 1040.mst – Italian transform file

      5. 1046.mst – Portuguese (Brazil)

      6. 2070.mst – Portuguese (Europe)

      7. Passport.msi – msi  installation package

      8. Setup.exe – executable that applies the transform file of the language selected during install to the msi installation package

  4. You will be prompted to select a User Data Folder.  By default, the selected location will be the My Documents folder.  However, if you choose to use a different location, then you may do so by either selecting from the following or specifying the new location. (Note - If you are upgrading from a version prior to 2007-914, then all Passport configuration files will automatically be copied to the new directory specified during the setup.  However, it is still recommended that you perform a backup of the existing configuration files before proceeding to the installation.)
