Title

Pasted Text Gets Truncated and Does Not Wrap

Product

PASSPORT PC to Host, PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250

Issue

I am trying to copy text from Microsoft Word and paste it into PASSPORT. However, the words are being truncated and do not wrap to the next line. How can this issue be resolved?

Solution

PASSPORT 2010 or later has corrected this issue with the Word Wrap option, available only for Block Mode. If enabled, words that would normally overrun the right side of the PASSPORT screen or host field are automatically placed on the next line and aligned with the original cursor position when the paste was performed. Rocket Software has also released a patch for PASSPORT Web to Host Version 2009-619.

How to Apply the Patch:

This patch must be applied to version 2009-619 of PASSPORT Web to Host. If this is not done, unpredictable results may occur.

  1. Make sure PASSPORT Web to Host is not running.

  2. Unzip the ZIP file into a directory on your PC.

  3. For Windows Server with IIS installation:

Copy PassMan.cab and PassMan.htm into the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\PASSPORT eClient Admin

Copy Passweb.cab and Ecomes.asp into the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\PASSPORT eClient Admin\Eclient\

For a Java Application Server installation:

FTP or copy the Passweb.cab and Ecomes.asp to the location on the web server where the Passweb.cab file already resides
